Everything you need to know about yoga teacher training in Portugal.
Yes. A 200-hour Yoga Alliance-certified program (RYT200) is the international standard for teaching yoga. It covers anatomy, sequencing, philosophy, teaching methodology, and practicum. Most studios worldwide require this minimum certification.
Yoga teacher training in Portugal ranges from €1,200 to €3,000 for a 200-hour program. Our 200-hour Vinyasa YTT is €1,490 early bird (before July 15) or €1,650 after. The 3-day SCULPT training is €490 early bird or €550 after July 15.
Online YTT offers flexibility and lower cost but lacks hands-on adjustments and live teaching practice. In-person YTT provides immersive community, direct feedback, and practicum experience. Our hybrid program combines 100 hours online + 100 hours in-person in Lagos, Portugal, offering both flexibility and hands-on training.
RYT200 stands for Registered Yoga Teacher 200-hour. It is the globally recognized credential from Yoga Alliance, the largest international yoga registry. To maintain RYT200 status, teachers must complete 200 hours of training at a Registered Yoga School (RYS) and continue education every 3 years.
No. You do not need to be flexible or advanced in yoga to start teacher training. You need a consistent practice and a genuine desire to learn. Our training focuses on teaching methodology, anatomy, and sequencing — not performing advanced poses. Many of our best graduates started as beginners.
The 200-hour Vinyasa YTT runs September 27 - October 12, 2026 in Lagos, Portugal. It includes 100 hours of online pre-study (done at home before arrival) and 100 hours of live training in Portugal. The live portion is intensive — expect full days of practice, teaching labs, and anatomy sessions.
Yes. Upon completion, you receive a certificate that qualifies you to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT200. This credential is accepted by studios worldwide. You can teach group classes, private sessions, workshops, and online classes.
All trainings are held at Heat Lagos studio in Lagos, Algarve, Portugal. The studio is located at Edificio da Fabrica da Ribeira, Av. dos Descobrimentos, directly across from Praia de Batata beach. Lagos is easily accessible from Faro Airport (45 minutes by car or transfer).
No. Accommodation, travel, and meals are not included. This is intentional — you choose your own lodging so you can rest, integrate, and enjoy Lagos the way you want. Many students stay in nearby Airbnbs, surf houses, or hotels close to the beach. We can recommend options at various budgets.
The 3-day SCULPT Teacher Training (September 18-20, 2026) is for existing yoga and Pilates instructors who want to add high-intensity, music-driven sculpt classes to their teaching. Led by Alizee, it covers method foundations, programming, sequencing, and coaching skills. Early bird price is €490.
